Government funding

Government Funding Options in Ontario

There are a number of government agencies and programs that may be able to assist individuals in obtaining funding for many of our courses.

Here are some options:

Better Jobs –
Better Jobs is an Ontario government program that enables laid-off Ontarians to train for a new job in high-demand careers. Better Jobs helps people get the training or education they need to get a good job. It is a cost-sharing grant provided on the basis of need, so you may be asked to contribute what you can to your training or education. Skills training for up to two years in duration will be considered. If academic upgrading or English as a Second Language training is required as a prerequisite to skills training, the total training period can be up to three years. Click here for more info

Employment Ontario –
A program run by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) giving Ontarians an opportunity to speak with a professional counsellor and get the help they need to plan their career, get training, and find a job through the employment service. Click here to visit Employment Ontario.
Ontario Works-
Ontario Works is a financial assistance program for Ontarians in need, offered by the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS). Some funding may available for those facing financial hardship. Click here to visit Ontario Works.
Life Long Learning Plan –
The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) is a program offered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). It allows you to withdraw amounts from your RRSPs to finance full-time training or education for you or your spouse or common-law partner. You cannot participate in the LLP to finance your children’s training or education, or the training or education of your spouse’s or common-law partner’s children.
