Whether you’re pursuing a career in welding, health care, or cybersecurity, there are a variety of funding options available through government programs, private organizations, and scholarship opportunities.
Government Funding
Many WCTR students qualify for provincial and federal financial assistance. These programs can cover tuition, books, equipment, and even living expenses.
Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career)
- For individuals who are unemployed, laid off, or underemployed
- Covers tuition, textbooks, living expenses, transportation, and more
- Ideal for career changers or those seeking to re-enter the workforce with in-demand skills
Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG)
- For employed individuals whose employer is willing to sponsor their training
- Covers a significant portion of tuition and training costs
- Employers apply on behalf of the student
Ontario Works
- A program for Ontarians facing financial hardship.

Employment Ontario
- Run by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, this program helps Ontarians plan their careers, get training, and find jobs through professional counselling.
Private & Employer-Sponsored Funding
In addition to government funding, you may be eligible for financial support from private organizations, unions, Indigenous communities, or employers.
Union or Industry Sponsorships
- Some students may receive training support through their trade union or industry associations
- Ask your union rep or local employer about available training incentives
Indigenous Funding Programs
- Available to eligible First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learners through local band offices or Indigenous organizations
- May cover tuition, travel, living expenses, and child care

Union or Industry Sponsorships
- Allows you to withdraw from your RRSP (up to $10,000 per year, max $20,000) to fund full-time education

Funds may be used for education, training, exam fees, living expenses, relocation, and more. Windmill also offers coaching, mentorship, and flexible repayment options Windmill_Microlending_Help_windmillmicrolending.org.
Gratify (e.g., tuition financing at point‑of‑sale)
While specific information on Gratify’s programs is limited on public sources, it’s typically offered as a tuition payment solution—allowing students to pay in installments. We’d be happy to share how Gratify is integrated for WCTR students or assist with applying.
